     Trikala, Greece

      5 - 11 December 2021

On the 5th of December four of our students: Zara Bohar (1.A), Mateja Peternel (1.H), Lara Zelenika and Tea Major (4.H) and three of our teachers: Dinka Kavalir, the headmaster, Lana Andrijević, the pedagist, and Romana Zelda, the English teacher and the project coordinator, went on a seven day trip to Trikala in Greece.

The first day we traveled most of the time and in the afternoon we got to our hotel in Athens. In the evening we took a walk and got to see the nightlife of Athens. The next day we explored the historical monuments such as the Panathinako Stadium where the first modern Olympic games were held, the famous Museum of Acropolis, and finally the Acropolis and Parthenon itself. It was beautiful!! We spent some time there, took some amazing pictures and then went to the restaurant to eat lunch. After that long day we made our way to Trikala and arrived in the late evening. The third day we spent at school where we had presentations about our school and what we have done for the ACT4ENV project. We also got to program robots and compete with other international teams. After our school day, we had free time that we spent in the town. On the fourth day, we visited Meteora, a complex of 24 monasteries built on rocks. The monasteries were beautiful and the view was amazing. We got to explore two of them. After Meteora, we had some free time to relax from a long day of walking, but we still didn't have enough. In the evening we and our teachers went to the Christmas gem of Trikala - Mill of the Elves, Christmas village. It is an amusement park with the theme of Christmas. The next day we were introduced to the Vice Major of Trikala and she told us everything that Trikala does to help the environment and their future plans to help it even more. After exploring the city we had lunch and free time. Day six was very exciting, on our way back to Athena we stopped in Delphi. We saw the theatre at Delphi, the Temple of Apollo, the rock that was, according to the Greek mythology, sent by the god Zeus to mark the center of the world, and the Archeological Museum of Delphi. After we finished our new adventure at Delphi, we continued to travel towards Athena. The next day we packed our luggage and in the early morning started our journey back home.

We had a great time and all of us would like to come back to Greece and explore it even more. The Greek culture and the Greek food are truly something that makes Greece stand out from the other countries. We would also like to thank our Greek hosts for such great hospitality and for showing us famous Greek treasures.

The project ACT4ENV  made it possible for us to go Trikala, Greece. We were there for seven days. There were students from Spain, Portugal, Romania and the hosts Greeks. We first came to Athens and spent one night there. We visited the Acropolis Museum and took a walk around the city. Athens is a really beautiful city. We spent the other days in Trikala. Trikala is a small and beautiful town. This was my first trip outside Croatia so I was very excited. The people there were very kind. This trip was very exciting for me, I met new people, new culture and tried new food. I hope to visit Greece again one day.

For me it was the first time participating in the ERASMUS +  project so I was very excited. We were in Trikala for five days with the students from Spain, Portugal, Romania and hosts from Greece. During the day we traveled and in the evening we had time to hang out with people from other countries. We have visited many sights such as the Acropolis of Athens, Meteora, Trikala Byzantine Castle and many more. I liked Trikala because it is not a big city and it's very beautiful. People from Trikala were very nice and friendly so it was fun hanging out with them. I liked Athens the most and I would like to go there again. This was one amazing experience and I would like to do it again.
